Traveling with Food Allergies- How I roll!

19 Jun

Its T-14 days until we go on 4th of July Vacation!

Many of my readers ask me “How in the world do you travel without eating out?”

I will tell you it is a skill.

A few days ago I started to get ready. We will be on vacation from the 3-7th. That’s 16 meals and snacks.  I have figured out a few things that help me take the stress out of eating when not at home. Who wants to have a reaction on vacation and end up sick! NOT THIS GIRL!

First I think about what I am going to be doing. This is going to be a whirlwind vacation! We will be playing tourist and staying in a new place every night. I lived in Washington Dc for many years so we have a ton of friends to visit.  I know we will be walking everywhere  and visiting friends and monuments, so meals will be on the fly. I need to make sure that I have food on me at all times.  Now for those of you who have not visited DC in July to words.. HOT and Muggy! So I have to think of things that are filling, won’t spoil and are light to carry.

What kind of foods can I have with me that won’t be horrible in the heat??  I start with my portable food.

Last night I ordered easy, prepackaged, travel friendly items:

Snack Foods

  • Enjoy Life Sunnut Butter Bars  I have left these in the car in Austin in 110 degree weather. Now they didn’t taste awesome after that but they were edible.  All the major allergen’s free ;)
  • Heather’s Tummy Fiber Pouches- I always have one or two in my purse to add to my Protein shakes. They help me feel full and are super easy on my tummy. They also help my blood sugar stay stable.
  • Numi White tea with White Rose- White tea is a huge anti histamine! This tea is lovely to drink hot or Iced. I make a nice big container for the day and drink till my heart is content.
  • Vega One Pouches Chocolate-  Every morning I have 2 servings with My Heather’s tummy fiber mixed in. The cost on this one is pricey but I get nervous traveling with large amounts of “Powder” that I put in zip locks myself, on airplanes. I have had things taken away from me even though I have a letter from my doctor explaining I have food issues. No one seems to care when they are prepackaged. I also carry them with me for quick meals when food cannot be found.
  • Sunbutter Sunflower Seed Spread On the go Packages Theses are lifesavers! Once I had to survive a 6 hour layover only on  sunbutter. I always have them with me!

Things that help carry food or stop allergies :

  • TostaBags- Yest these things work. I usually bake a loaf of allergy friendly bread to take with me on trips. If I want toast but am afraid of contamination. This is what I use.
  • Blue Tansy/ Jojoba oil- Blue tansy is a POWERFUL Antihistamine. This oil is light enough for me to spray in a room or put on my face. I find it very use full in homes where pets reside.
  • Collapsible 3 compartment Lunch box. I wanted to find something that would not leak in my travel bag AND something that would not leak! This does the trick. After I eat I give it a good rinse and collapse it down. Its very light so I don’t mind carrying it when we are out and about.
  • Blender Bottle- BPA Free! This baby mixes my shakes on the go when I can’t bring my Blendtec with me. It also seals tight enough that I can put my ice tea in it for the day as well!
  • Insulated Backpack Now this is not the one I have, but it is close. I am looking for a custom purse that someone will insulate for me. I found some on etsy but they were pretty heavy. Ideas?

I hope this list will get your imagination going. I know I have a pretty extensive list of allergies ( I am gluten free and vegan to name a few)

so if you are avoiding only one or 2 things this list should help you get started.

I would love to hear from you about what you travel with!

Tomorrow will be about meal planning and how I do it…

Stay tuned!

I had a dream last night that I got a tattoo of the on the top of my head from Alex grey Looked like a rainbow infinity symbol and he called the Corpus callosum.

14 Jun

Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you I have interesting dreams. Last night was amazing to say the least. I became aware that I was in a

Rainbow

room with a huge glass wall overlooking a river. There was a chair in the center and Alex Grey the artist was there. He had beautiful long rainbow hair. He asked me if I was ready for my tattoo. He showed me a picture of it, a highly intricate almost Celtic weaving of the infinity symbol done in rainbow. He said it was going on top of my head and called it the “Corpus Callosum Tattoo.” I felt him begin to tattoo and it was relatively quick.  He showed me in the mirror when it was done and it was indescribable. Like it was alive and moving. I wish I was an artist so that I could draw it, but I doubt even then I could capture the intricacy of its beauty.

After the tattoo was completed. I drank some water and felt my tooth loose. I reached inside my mouth and pulled out a very long tooth that had metal attached to it. I laughed planted it in the ground and then woke up.

Here is what the dream dictionary’s and various websites have to say about the things that stood out in my dream :

Tattoo

To dream that you have tattoos represent your sense of individuality and the desire to stand out in a crowd. You want to be unique
and different from everybody else, particularly if you do not have any tattoos in real life.
Consider also what the tattoo is and what significance it has in your life. It may represent something that has left a lasting
impression on you. Alternatively, to dream that you have a tattoo suggests that a waking situation or
decision is having a much longer lasting effect that you had expected.

Rainbow

To see a rainbow in your dream represents hope, success and good fortune in the form of money, prestige, or fame. The rainbow is
also seen as a bridge between your earthly, grounded self and the higher, spiritual self.
It refers to joy and happiness in your relationship. Alternatively, the rainbow implies that your troubles are almost over.
Good will come out of your issues. Just hang in there. To dream that something is rainbow colored implies that you need to see things in a more positive light. You need to be more optimistic. Also consider the significance of the object. To dream that you have rainbow colored hair refers to your light-hearted and carefree nature. You are headed in a positive  spiritual direction.

·         Alex gray had rainbow colored hair

·         My tattoo was rainbow colored

Head
To see a head in your dream signifies wisdom, intellect, understanding and rationality. It may also represent your accomplishments,
self-image, and perception of the world. The dream may also be metaphor to
indicate that you are “ahead” in some situation or that you need to get ahead.

Infinity
To see the infinity symbol in your dream represents time and longevity. Alternatively, it symbolizes wealth or the number 8.

http://www.2012spiritualshift.com/aquarius.htm

The more that we develop and balance the divine threefold flame within our hearts, the more we will be able to cross the rainbow
saggital bridge between our physical day-to-day existence and our soul experiences in the etheric retreats of the heaven world.
The rainbow saggital bridge springs from the seed atom of our etheric body, which is one hand-width above the head,
and rainbows down to the corpus callosum where it connects.

What does it mean when you dream about pulling out teeth?

A dream featuring teeth being pulled out corresponds to:
Moment of transition particularly difficult
Dreams of having teeth pulled out may come during times of significant transition. The dream imagery symbolizes how painful or
difficult the experience is for you as you go through changes.
The changes in your life may be experienced as an aggression or be emotionally painful. Perhaps it’s like extracting yourself
from your comfort zone, which often comes with facing loss, challenges and disturbing emotions.
According to psychologist and dream analyst Carl Jung, if you dream about having a tooth or teeth pulled out and you are a woman,
the dream symbolizes giving birth, either literally or symbolically such as giving birth to a new self or a project.
Your dream about pulling out teeth indicates that you are becoming more aware of your emotions. As such, it a sign that you
are growing into self discovery, even if may at times feel painful.

I am curious to see how this dream manifests in my real life. I have had many dreams in the past that I have seen show

me where I was going or what was going to happen.

That is why I write them down now, so that I can go back and look at them.

What do you think?

Hypnosis Annihilates Austin Allergies

13 Jun

A study done by Swiss researches at the University Hospital Basel, Switzerland have discovered some very interesting things about allergies and hypnosis.

The study finds that  focusing one’s thoughts on allergen-free environments can reduce symptoms of allergies by one-third.

As an allergy sufferer myself I have used all the standard stuff: antihistamines, decongestants and sometimes steroids. The problem with these treatments is the  side-effects such as drowsiness, a dry mouth, roid rage and raised blood pressure.

Wolf Langewitz of the University Hospital Basel, Switzerland, and his colleagues sought to find out how well hypnosis works. 79 subjects with severe allergic reactions were used.  To achieve successful results using hypnosis,  one must first enter a trance-like state and then focus the mind on a particular theme, such as a pollen free beach.

Half of the subjects continued with the practice for nearly 2 years. They were tested twice once with hypnosis and once without. The congestion levels dropped 1/3 with Hypnosis.

I am offering Free Hypnotherapy Consultations for Allergy Sufferers. I have  designed a new gentle treatment program for your chronic allergies.

The new treatment program is called Annihilate Austin Allergies! This program is designed to get at the root cause of your allergies.

How Hypnosis Helped Me

10 Jun

If you have read my blog you know I have a rare disorder called Eosinophilic Esophagitis. I won’t get in to huge details about what it is but essentially

my body attacks itself because of what I eat and breathe. I have a range of horrible physical symptoms from it as well as lots of stress because how do you control what you breathe!! Any type of chronic condition can cause anxiety and depression because of feeling powerless to fix it. I have to say I am 5 years into my diagnosis, of a disease I have had since birth, and I have had my moments of anxiety and depression. I am just being honest.

At this point, I have done all I can to control the fallout of this condition. I don’t eat out. I prepare all of my own food. 2/3 of my diet is liquid to stop chest pain and help absorption issues. I have a huge air filter in my bedroom in order to at least breathe clean air while I am sleeping. There are probably 100 other things I do to cope.

Hypnosis

Hypnosis (Photo credit: zoomar)

2 years ago I decided to try Hypnosis just to see what it could do for me. At the time I was extremely stressed about my diet and how to manage this disease. I was at the end of my rope. I hated socializing with friends and explaining over and over why I could not eat out whit them. Some of the time I would give in and eat just to be violently ill later. I like to people please, so its hard for me to make some one uncomfortable. The reason I bring this up will be clear in a bit.

At the time of my Quantum Healing Hypnosis Therapy Session, I had some specific goals to work on. One of which being seeing why I had all of these allergies and what I could to to help me support me with them.  During the session, My subconscious mind told me something very strange and important about my condition. When you are under hypnosis you contact the part of your mind that knows everything and can answer the large questions. I knew this but was not really prepared for what happened next.  My subconscious told me that I chose this condition when I came in to this life to protect me from foods I do not need to eat and places that I do not need to be.  I was not at all happy with this answer so I knew I was not making it up during my session. My subconscious then said that it would help take the anxiety and trauma I had around eating and clear it for me. I felt a great deal of peace at that moment . I can only explain it as a deep sense of wellness and support. I had help. My Subconscious and I were in alinement and I would have help. This may sound strange to someone who has never experienced hypnosis. It was a little odd for me the first time too. I left the session feeling calm and deeply peaceful.

I have to say honestly that there were not major firework changes that I saw at first. My emotions around eating softened. I no longer worried if I ate in front of people. I now longer worried that people thought it was weird that I didn’t eat. I didn’t’ have to force myself to fit in. It was effortless. That was the beauty of Hypnosis. All I had to do was my session and my subconscious did the rest.  My longtime followers have seen that in January I said I would no longer be eating out.  A year ago I would have lost my mind with that thought. This year it was like ” Yeah I want to feel better, Ill stop eating out.” I  am at 6 months so far and really don’t miss it. I still go out with my friends and don’t miss out on being sick . My anxiety is gone.  I am stronger an feel better than I have in a long time. and it was EFFORTLESS!!!

I wanted to share this for 2 reasons.

  • We all have enough stress in our life for whatever reason-We all could use a reduction in our reaction to stress. Hypnosis helps do just that.
  • We all need help.-Don’t you think the best help you can get is from yourself?  Your subconscious is with you every moment, better than any type of coach. It knows how to help you see things or fix things for you better than you do.

My next article will focus on what other types of things Hypnosis can help Stay tuned!!

I would love to hear from anyone else who has tried Hypnosis ! Lets talk about it!

Why a Pegasus for my new Logo..good by green lady….and thank you…

8 Jun

PegasusNature leaves us a pattern in everything.  If you look long enough you can begin to see the pattern, some even say we create the pattern ourselves by looking.  Why is this important?

When I began my classes to become a QHHT practitioner, Pegasus’s kept showing up.  As a child, my room was full of them. I felt like I was rediscovering my love for them. People started bringing me them without me letting anyone know about Pegasus’s reemergence in my life. When the 3rd one showed up,  I really began to really pay attention.

One day my husband called excited and said ” I found our house.”

We had been looking for over 2 years and had put multiple offers that fell thru for various reasons, so I was skeptical.

He said “It’s on Pegasus St.”

We went to see it and needless to say.. fell in love.

Now you may say what does this have to do with healing?

If you are still reading here is where we follow the white rabbit

I knew there was a pattern, so I began to dig deeper. This is what I found and why I think it is important.
This is taken in parts from several websites.

My comments are in Italics.

PEGASUS- THE WINGED WHITE HORSE

In the human body the place of memory is called “hippocampus“ The word hippocampus means sea horse. The father of Pegasus was Poseidon the God of the Sea.  In addition, Stedman’s medical dictionary defines the hippocampus of the brain as a white eminence.

Thus Pegasus is the White Sea horse of memory within you.

When we work with Hypnosis we are working in part with this spot in your brain, interesting don’t you think that during my studies Pegasus began to pop up everywhere?

What makes this even more interesting is the fact that Pegasus was sacred to the Muses. The mother of the Muses is Mnemosyne who is the Goddess of memory.Pegasus, which is the hippocampus of the brain, is responsible for memory.

Keep in mind these Myths were written long before we” scientifically understood” the brain or how it was connected.

PEGASUS, MEMORY-THE MUSES

So, Pegasus is the hippocampus of your brain, the place of memory. But who are the Muses? The Muses are nine entities of mythology that lived on Mt Helicon the sacred Mountain of Apollo.

Remember, these things did not physically exist. They are symbolic references to your head and your brain! Pegasus was connected to the Muses because he opened their fountain, (Hippocrene) on Mt. Helicon.

The Names of the Muses and what they represent are:

Calliope- Epic stories

Erato- Love

Enterpe-lyric (word)

Melpomeny-tragedy

Thalia- Comedy

Clio- history

Urania-Astronomy

Olyhymnia- sacred song

Terpsichore- dance

So the thought patterns that are part of the human psyche or consciousness that eventually manifest into the physical realms are represented by the Muses.

Consider this, when we work with Hypnosis we are accessing the part of the brain that can help to mold your PHYSICAL REALITY! This means when you come to a QHHT session with an issue, I help you reach the place in your brain that will help you solve your problems.
Einstein said “You can’t solve a problem with the same mind that created it.”
When you undergo hypnosis you are actually going deep into your subconscious mind, the place of memory, to a place, in your mind that CAN solve your problems!

But there is something else to consider as we connect Pegasus and the Muses.  The word Muse means the art of meditation.

MEDITATION AND THE MOUNTAIN CALLED HELICON

The very interesting part of all of this is that the word Muse means the mind and meditation. Pegasus is the white horse that caused the fountain of the Muses to activate. This was on Mount Helicon. Consider meditation and the spiral energy called Kundalini or the coiled serpent which rises up from the base of the spine to the Pineal Gland of the brain.

The pineal gland regulates sleep among other things

Small Side note :

The ancient Greeks invoked sleep by appealing to a god called Hypnos, from whose name the word “hypnotism” was coined many centuries later. The link is quite appropriate, for in ancient Greece, if a person went into a deep sleep or trance situation from which it was difficult to arouse him; it was logically assumed that Hypnos had taken control over that individual. So, even that far back, there was a discernible difference between natural and hypnotic sleep. The Romans had a similar god named Somnus, who was blamed for producing odd forms of sleep; hence, the modern term “somnambulism” is used to signify sleep-walking and also to denote a hypnotic state that resembles it. —From: Gibson, Walter B., Hypnotism.
New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 1970, p. 14.

Now back to it …

Consider the fact that the word Helicon which is the sacred mountain of the Muses means spiral.  Helicon the sacred mountain of the Muses is the spiral energy which rises in meditation to bring us to the place of enlightenment.

Everything is connected in perfect harmony, within and without. If you have mad it this far with me and my white rabbit I commend you! I am always digging always questioning and trying to find the patterns. This in part makes me a good Hypnotist and Medical massage Therapist. My favorite Question is WHY??? Eventually if you ask it enough you will find the answer you are looking for.  I asked Why Pegasus…. And the universe told me… because I listened…

Namaste,

Yvonne
